We were so excited last week to get our travel approval, but we were very disappointed that we would not be with Anna Grace for her birthday. We started to make arrangements to leave for China on May 19th- but that seemed so far away. In the mean time, we waited for our agency to make our consulate appointment. We have to go to the consulate in Southern China at the very end of our trip in order to get Anna Grace's visa. Well, the consulate office seems to be very busy and they were not able to see us when our agency requested. Our agency decided to try to book our appointment for a week earlier and today we received an email that we are to leave for China on May 11th and Anna Grace will be united with us on May 13th- her birthday!! I never would have dreamed that our "gotcha day" would be Anna Grace's birthday, but God had his own plan. God always seems to have bigger and better ideas than I could ever dream up. From the time that we started this adoption we have been trying to walk by faith and follow God's plan. I can only imagine what else He has in store for us.
We are happy to announce that got updated measurements from our agency today! Anna Grace is up to 22lbs and she is 2 1/2 feet tall. She is only in the 5th percentile for her height and weight. We have been shopping for mostly 18-24 month clothes for her, but now we think she will be wearing a size 12-18 month! Yikes! We have some more shopping to do! We did not get any new pictures, but we feel very blessed to at least have an idea of what size to pack for her.
We got the call tonight that we will be traveling on May 19th! We are so excited to finally get our travel approval and start making plans for our trip. Today is also Alex's birthday, so it is a great day at the Huff House! Now, we are off to ice a cake and start packing!
TA! TA! TA! TA! We need Travel Approval so that we can get to China. We need it really soon if we have any chance of getting there before our precious daughter's birthday. Her birthday is on May 13th and our agency has a group leaving on May 5th. We really want to travel with that group! Please pray that we will get our TA soon. The three years that we waited is nothing compared to the waiting that we have had since we have gotten our referral. I constantly feel edgy and jumpy. I don't think I will feel settled again until we have our family complete.
Our immigration papers came in the mail and we got our LOA this week!! We are so excited! Our next step is TA- travel approval. Of course, every time we get another step through this whole process, there is a mound of paperwork to complete. I will work over spring break on getting our Visas to travel to China. We are thinking that we will travel in May if everything goes well. According to our agency, China should issue our TA in 2-4 weeks, but they are running really slowly right now. I know of several families who have waited more than 4 weeks already. I am praying that we will get our TA soon so that we can be there for Anna Grace's birthday.
We are getting ready for Easter weekend. Today we will have my family over and then we will go to Mike's family's house after church tomorrow. Cole & Alex are really excited about all of our plans.
We are praying for our little neighbor who is recovering from heart surgery. He is from the same province in China as Anna Grace, and he has only been home a few weeks. Little John Asher has had a really hard time of recovering after his surgery. You can check out the Beall family blog at http://www.bealladoptionjourney.blogspot.com/ .
